CATEMACO TURS was started in 1998 by Franklin Gonzalez and Mike Vondruska. Franklin is originally from Veracruz, Mexico. Currently, he lives in the Chicago area. Mike is from the Chicago area as well. Both of them have come from an entrepreneurial background and have another shared interest. That is a love for travel and adventure. Franklin has experiences from building a helicopter as a youth that actually flew to traveling by motorcycle all over South America. Mike is a professional entertainer and speaker who has performed across the U.S., Canada, China, Egypt, Mexico, and on cruise ships in the Carribean and South America.

Natives of Catemaco,  Juan Luis Nolasco Azamar (call him Juan Luis) and his wife, Magdalena, are the on site managers of CATEMACO TURS. Juan Luis is also the captain of the 30 foot pontoon boat, EL DELFIN. Franklin and Mike commute back and forth from Chicago to Catemaco to help coordinate operations.

 Franklin is the “build-it, fix-it, public relations, and Spanish-English interpreter” guy.
 Mike is the “promotions - advertising -  reservations - explore for new adventure trips” guy.
